About us
We are a family-owned construction company located in Guilford, VT.
Jethro entered into the building trades 22 years ago, working for a large construction company on Martha’s Vineyard for 8 years before breaking off on his own to continue building new homes and doing renovations. He moved to Guilford in 2015, and built a house for his family: a high-performance 1400 square foot home.
Jaime has a BA in Anthropology from Cornell University and a MA in teaching from SIT Graduate Institute. After a decade traveling and teaching English, she worked at SIT as an instructional designer and program manager. She then worked in administration, honing her business and project management skills as the administrative manager of Guilford’s Broad Brook Community Center.
Jaime and Jethro launched Owl’s Head Builders, LLC in 2020 to align their skills and work together as a family.
We value the triple bottom line – people, planet, and profit: We value our employees and have a family-first approach to running our business; we have a passion for and focus on deep-energy retrofits of older homes and high-performance new construction; and we strive to run our business sustainably, working to meet our client’s budget while maintaining a strong financial structure. We work with HELM construction solutions in Brattleboro to ensure that our operations are sustainable. We take pride in the quality of our work and stand behind our craftmanship, and are constantly educating ourselves about advancements in building practices and building science.
We are fully-insured, are members the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), and are an EPA lead-safe certified firm.
We do frame to finish new constructions and custom renovations. Our crew has a wide range of experience with all aspects of building, including roofing, tiling and foundation work. We also have a trusted network of subcontractors and suppliers that we rely on. We are especially adept at keeping a clean work site, communicating well with clients, and working in spaces that are being lived in. We pride ourselves on our ability to problem-solve renovation in older homes and create healthier and more efficient living spaces.
